I went and got Jay-Z's "Decoded" on Tuesday, and I have to honestly say the book caught me off guard. The book is really a in depth look into Jay's life before the fame, and he explains the steps he took to becoming successful. I think one the best parts of the book is when he explains his lyrics and experiences with different artist. I'm about 100 pages in and it's been keeping my attention. I think it's a really good book for those who don't know much about hip-hop. It shows how hip-hop is a form of poetry and a lifestyle, not just limited to rap. Check out a couple of shots I took below.
